I have been living in Hamburg for three and a half years and only in the last half year have i properly discovered the Elbe and the harbour area, it is the most beautiful river with the most diverse parts of it and right now it is reaches its most splendid phase. It is slowly but surely freezin over. These photos were taken yesterday afternoon. Today I was there again, alas, without my camera. The entire river is white and iced over, the only non frozen water to be seen is the trails of the boats that have broken their way through the ice..its just BEAUTIFUL. watch this space I will be posting more photos.
